THE SHORT ANSWER
A BaZi relationship compatibility reading compares two Four Pillars charts to explore your strengths, differences, and how you each express care. A fresh perspective on compatibility. More room for your own judgment.

Start with the two of you.
You can care about someone and still find yourselves talking past each other. Or feel an easy connection without quite knowing why. Exploring relationship compatibility gives you a way to ask what brings you closer, how you each express care, and what you could talk about before getting more serious.
BaZi is Chinese astrology, also called Four Pillars. It uses your birth year, month, day, and hour to create a chart. Comparing two charts lets you explore the patterns between them, beyond the zodiac animal you may already know.
What goes into the reading?
The reading brings together your personal elements, the mix of five elements in each chart, and the relationships between your animal symbols. Each adds something to the picture.
| Part of your chart | What to look for |
|---|---|
| Day Masters | The personal element at the heart of each chart, read alongside everything around it. |
| Five Elements | How Fire, Earth, Metal, Water, and Wood appear in your charts. |
| Animal relationships | Where the animal symbols in your charts form patterns traditionally associated with support or tension. |
Make it a conversation.
Suppose one of you wants to talk straight after a disagreement and the other needs a little quiet first. A theme in your reading might give you a reason to ask about that difference, rather than assume you already understand it.
Try, “When we disagree, what helps you feel heard?” Then agree on something you can actually do: take a pause, choose a time to come back, or ask for reassurance more clearly. See what helps in your own relationship.
And where does Feng Shui fit?
BaZi and Feng Shui share ideas such as yin and yang and the five elements, but they look at different things. BaZi explores a birth chart; Feng Shui looks at people and the spaces around them.
Here, you are exploring BaZi. You can begin with your birth details and a little curiosity. You do not need to rearrange your home or learn all the terminology first.
Before you begin.
Have both birth dates and birthplaces ready, and add local birth times if you know them. If a time is unknown, follow the report’s prompts and missing-time notes. Some readings need more detail than others.
Ask the other person’s permission before entering their details; you can use nicknames. Joy Luck’s free relationship reading does not require an account or email address. You can read how your information is used on the chart page before you start.
Your relationship is bigger than a chart.
There is no compatibility percentage here. An easy-looking pairing cannot promise a happy relationship, and a difficult one does not mean you should separate. Terms such as “clash” describe traditional chart patterns, not a measured divorce risk.
Bring the reading back to what you know about each other. How someone treats you, whether you feel safe, and whether your boundaries are respected matter more than any chart. A reading should never become a reason to excuse mistreatment or pressure someone.
A LITTLE MORE CLARITY
Your questions, simply answered.
Can I use this for someone I’m already with?
Yes. A reading can give an established relationship a fresh conversation, just as it can help you explore a new connection.
Is this a love test?
Joy Luck does not score your love or give you a pass or fail. The reading offers patterns to explore together.
Does a difficult animal pairing mean we should break up?
No. One pairing cannot decide that. Look at the wider reading and, above all, your real experience with each other.
